RIVERFEST is coordinated by Watauga River
Conservation Partners, a Chapter of the Western
North Carolina Alliance. The mission of the Watauga
River Conservation Partners is to work to preserve,
protect from pollution and, where necessary, to
restore lost quality of the river and its
tributaries.
Watauga River Conservation Partners:

Works to promote wise land-use practices,
discourage resource exploitation, and educate
policy makers.

Restores stream banks, monitor stream health,
and work with state level basinwide planners.

Raises money to purchase materials for local
public schools, and makes presentations in
schools.

Participates in the local community including
river cleanups, funding college research
scholarships, labeling storm drains.
